Hi, 500 watt light has the potential to blind you :)

Your normal house hold bulb in the ceiling is between 60-100watts, 100 watts being the very bright ones.

If possible find a light with a dimmer, or use filters in front of the light. I dont have too much experience with lighting sorry but you can google 3 point lighting for info. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcMX1RcNRYA

Cam is fine although expensive http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-960-00 ... rds=BCC950

Thanks

Whatever you do don't try to cam under that type of light lol. It looks like a builders light which will get hot and be awful for camming with. I'd reccomend either grabbing some daylight bulbs or using lights made for photography / video. I use a continuous lighting kit which I got from ebay fairly cheap, similar to this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135W-CONTINUO ... 4856ff376a The umbrella allows the light to be difused around you (nice and soft) rather than directional which causes harsh shadows, but you shouldn't place it too close to you otherwise you'll be washed out.

This diagram shows the 3 point lighting setup which works really well for webcam work, if you need to know where to position your lights:

Hope that helps xx

Also the webcam you posted seems really overpriced, but tis up to you. Logitech are a very good company when it comes to webcams though - all of mine have been logitech. I use a c920 which is HD and very clear, you can pick them up for £40 - £50, hope that helps xx
